Wincanton Town Council will be meeting tonight,16th September, to discuss the planning application and their response to it. Please attend to make your views known to the Councillors.

Somerset Council Planning Department has allowed an extension to the deadline for comments from the statutory consultees (Town Council, NHS, Highways etc.)

The new deadline is the 27th of September.

Somerset Council Planning Department has also revised the deadline for comments from the public, it is now 27th of September.

The latest monitoring figures from Somerset Council are shown below.

This shows that from the beginning of the adopted Local Plan period (2006) to 31st of March 2024,

796 houses have been delivered within the parish of Wincanton. As at the 31st of March 2024, there are commitments for a further 222 houses. As a result, there is potentially a total of 1,018 houses to be delivered within the plan period (2006 - 2028).

This figure could rise to 1,668 houses should this application for 650 houses be granted planning permission.
